Materials are ok, but how to create multiple instances with different colors plastic or steel parts painted. Camera exposure is crucial to seeing anything other than a white out. Sky is a texture(?) but dissapears when you override a color in a material. panels fly out left and right with mystery functionality.
Its got to be hard to cram all that functionality into a panel, but this is far from ideal. The reality is that a deep dive into Vray is inevitable which brings us to the virtually unitelligible Asset management panel. The next concept that was missing, was that Vray asset management panel in Rhino can accept input from GH to add to a more sophisticated scene created in Rhino, and that this is where all the controls reside for more complex scenes, and GH essentially just contributes geometry. I went around and around looking for Sky. The concept that took me days to grasp, is that sophisticated background scenes cannot be created from within Grasshopper! I would also like to add some elements from an image like rocks, sand, coastline, shoreline town etc. In such a situation, best would be to contact us so we can schedule a remote session and see what has gone wrong.I have been trying to replicate a scene in the VRay promo videos with an outdoor object in water, with Sun/Sky that is photorealistic. Open a fresh SketchUp project and then the V-Ray Asset Editor - you should be able to download the assets Navigate yourself to the corresponding place and delete the V-Ray Material Library folder. The Preset Material Library should be saved \Documents\V-Ray Material Library\ on Windows, or in ~/Library/Application Support/ChaosGroup/V-Ray Material Library on macOS.If that's not the case, try the following: If you select Continue, you will not see the Download button for the current session anymore, however, you should be able to see an option to Check for content updates. You will once more be prompted to download the assets, or alternatively, keep only the existing assets (by clicking Continue: see screenshot). Upon pressing Cancel while downloading the assets, a message will show that the download was incomplete.
